Area Modern Home · Greensboro, NC
Greensboro
511 S Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27406
A small modern furniture store on South Elm Street in downtown Greensboro. We keep about ten pieces on the floor, sit you on them, and configure the rest with you from the catalog and swatches. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
What is on the floor
The Greensboro shop is small on purpose. Expect a handful of Younger sofas and sectionals, a couple of chairs, some Pablo lighting, and whatever else has come in that month. Nothing is stacked to the ceiling.
If you are after a specific piece, ring first and we will tell you whether it is on the floor or in the catalog. Either way you can sit on something close, pick the fabric, and have yours built to spec.
Getting here
511 South Elm Street, at the south end of downtown Greensboro. Street parking on Elm and the side streets, and the downtown decks are a few blocks north. The Durham shop is about an hour east on I-40 if you are closer to the Triangle.

Some of the sample catalog. Not all of it is on the floor; all of it can be ordered from the shop.
Questions about the Greensboro shop
- Is everything on the site in the Greensboro store?
- No. The shop is small and we keep about ten pieces on the floor. The site is a sample of what we can order. Come sit on what is here, then configure yours from the catalog and swatches with us.
- Can I buy online?
- No. We are a showroom, not a webshop. Visit, call, or send a note and we will sort it out in person.
- How long does a custom sofa take?
- Younger pieces are bench-built in Thomasville, about half an hour from the shop. Ask for the current lead time when you order; it moves with the season.
